Jean Denant installs the Mattes Basses project in the Haut Languedoc Regional Park en pleine nature!

After 4 years, the artist Jean Denant installs the work Mattes Basses in the Parc régional du haut Languedoc en pleine nature. Described by the artist himself as “a sculpture in the landscape for the sake of the landscape”, the work is part of his production in which he reflects on the rural landscape as an artistic element per se.

The Fundació Vilacasas hosts the exhibition “Des de més enllà del temps” by Fina Miralles

Curated by Maia Creus y Maria Lluïsa Faxedas, the exhibition Des de més enllà del temps de Fina Miralles presents the visual relationship between writing and the artist’s plastic production, previously published in Fina Miralles. Paraules fèrtils 1972-2017. In the words of the curators, “the figure runs through Fina Miralles’ entire pictorial corpus, with images that refer to the indigenous past common to all human beings, the presence of the biological mother or the cosmic tree, and the beings of the water; we also find a gallery of mythological spirits, from the ancestral power of the totem to the spirit of the forest, of day and night, or the flowering of the plant kingdom”.

The exhibition will be open from 14.09.2023-14.01.2023 at the Espai Volart of the Fundació Vilacasas (Barcelona).

Gloria Oyarzabal at PhMuseum Days 2023 International Photo Festival (Bologna)

From 22.09.2023 to 24.09.2023, the photographer Gloria Oyarzabal will take part in the PhMuseum Days 2023 International Photo Festival. Under the title Appunti per un’orestiade africana – a democracy in fatigueOyarzabal examines the concept of universal democracy. Based on Pier Paolo Pasolini’s pseudo-documentary Appunti per un’Orestiade Africana (1970), the photographer creates a political essay on the invention of freedom, reflecting on the post-colonial condition of African countries.

Orlan presents the exhibition “Tornar-se” in São Paulo (Brasil)

In the Brazilian context of the São Paulo Biennial, the French artist ORLAN presents Tornar-se. the first major retrospective of her complete oeuvre in Brazil. From photographs to videos and sculptures, the exhibition curated by Alain Quemin and Ana Paula C. Simioni traces a journey from the 1960s to the present day. “Memoria vivida”, exhibition by Pilar Aymerich at the Circulo de Bellas Artes (Madrid)

The Sala Picasso del Circulo de Bellas Artes (Madrid) is hosting one of the major retrospectives of Pilar Aymerich (National Photography Award 2021), a key figure in contemporary Spanish photography. From 19.09.2023 to 07.01.2024, the exhibition  Memoria Vivida will allow visitors to enjoy her career from the 1960s to 2007, accompanied by archive material that will provide an in-depth look at her production and context.

Exhibition curated by Neus Miró and organised by Circulo de Bellas Artes and La Fábrica; with the collaboration of Centre d’Art Tecla Sala.
