CAB Burgos opens «Como semilla humilde» an immersion into Teresa Gancedo’s poetic universe.

Centro de Arte Caja de Burgos (CAB) presents Como semilla humilde, an exhibition by Teresa Gancedo curated by Javier del Campo, inviting visitors to explore the symbolic universe of one of the most distinctive figures in contemporary Spanish art.

Taking its title from a poem by Antonio Colinas, the exhibition explores the idea of the germinal: that which, despite its small scale, contains an extraordinary potential for growth and transformation. This notion runs throughout Gancedo’s work, where memory, intuition and experience intertwine within a deeply personal visual language.

Through painting, drawing, collage and assemblage, the artist creates an imaginary world populated by figures, natural elements, symbols and objects that evoke both the intimate and the universal. Her works invite a slow and attentive contemplation, where painting becomes a space for reflection and a form of sensitive knowledge.

The exhibition forms part of CAB’s new exhibition programme, alongside La frontera húmeda by Valeria Maculan and Canto llano by Emilio Gañán, creating a journey that explores themes such as memory, perception, transformation, and the experience of the body and space.

Como semilla humilde will be on view at Centro de Arte Caja de Burgos until 6 September 2026.
